8/20/2009 Valerie Faust’s statement on the second round of petitioning and her forward moving campaign

“We didn’t hand in our petitions because our final count was just under 1,300, but we are pursuing the ‘write in’ option.  One thing I have personally learned and can now, most certainly, attest to, is the far reaching arms of corruption and unscrupulous activities that prevail in this city.  You wouldn’t believe, or maybe you would, the lengths Jennings and Ellis went to knock me out of this race, BUT, I’m still standing strong and focused.

I am pursuing this new option because of the nearly 3,000 people who signed both of my petitions and countless others who said they regret having signed Jennings’ and Corey’s.  I am going forward undaunted and super energized to become the next Mayor of Albany in spite of the ‘big guns’ that were aimed and fired at me.  I am a viable choice and neither of the other two will bring the the needed positive change of direction this city so desperately needs. Don’t get it confused, I’M STILL IN THIS RACE!”
